3D printed monomaterial footwear automatically generated from a user’s 3D foot scan, providing optimal fit, and reducing CO2 emissions to 23.8%.
User’s 3D scan their feet using a dedicated scanner or smartphone. This scan is uploaded into the generation algorithm which automatically produces a personalised shoe in 6 seconds. This is 3D printed in foaming TPU, enabling variable density in a single material and potential for closed loop recycling. Tested with 76 scans and 10 users. Aesthetics can be personalised by uploading any 2D image as a surface texture, democratising the design process.
