In this collection, we looked at a few surface design ideas. This series, known as the "kolam", presents a facet of Tamil Nadu's culture. Every family has a kolam that is displayed at the front door. It represents the warmth of the house.
We collaborate with an NGO called Kanimar, which gives snake-catching community women the opportunity to study needlework. We collaborate closely with these ladies to incorporate their expertise in surface design into our shoes because we believe that doing so helps to support the livelihood of this group of women and also exemplifies Tamil culture.
