Our world is deteriorating more and more every day both physically and mentally. These shoes are intended to encapsulate this element of decomposition, by portraying an abandoned insane asylum. The initial pair of chuck taylors were dyed with coffee and then assembled with canvas rust dyed by Lilla Rosenberg. Keeping in mind the theme of the shoe, salvaged military belts were incorporated to mirror the straps of a straight jacket. In addition, there is a hand-designed, military-inspired label on how to strap a patient into a straight jacket.
