The 'Layers' Boot design draws its inspiration mainly from deep-sea ecosystems that are in danger of extinction. The hybrid human figures in Alexander McQueen's Plato’s Atlantis collection are the muse of this footwear range which symbolizes the danger if customers don’t stop over-consumption. The recycled heel design can be thought of as a plastic-bone hybrid extension of the human foot. Layers boot is a multifunctional design since it can be worn with the zip open or closed. The heel is made from HDPE Recycled plastic to prevent waste and water pollution to a certain extent.
