A draped wedge boot in soft taupe leather, grounded by a vibrant chartreuse toe. Natural sole bend harness straps arc around the form, framing its sculptural flow. Created in 2025 during the Shoes Mastercourse by Kobi Levi and René van den Berg in Hoofddorp, The Netherlands, the piece explores the balance between structure and freedom, wearability and art.
Bio Isabel Monika Marchand is a footwear designer whose work idles between sculpture, craft, and wearability. Her practice is rooted in material experimentation, often layering materials and pushing them beyond traditional uses. She sees footwear as a deeply intimate object, something increasingly overlooked as bespoke craft dwindles. Marchand creates footwear as something far more than an accessory, combining conceptual art with traditional handcraft, all while continuing her search for the place footwear can hold within haute couture.
