The footwear was created during the "wooden-soled sandal/clog" course at Estonian Academy of Arts. Course was supervised by designer Kristiina Nurk.
The design was inspired by fashion figure and designer Michele Lamy - material choice and colorway came from her personal aesthetic, the design and material manipulation was inspired by her way of mutating human body and figure by creating unnatural sculptural shapes. Material for the shoes was recycled from an old leather jacket, decorative jewellery was bought second hand, dead stock wooden soles were from the university.
Bio Anete Aas is a second year accessory design student currently studying at Estonian Academy of Arts. Her work combines different materials and handicrafts, exploring the line between practical design and visual artistry. She is fascinated and inspired by philosophical themes and thoughts about the complexity of human relationships, the organic nature and its mystique, mythologies, human bodies and bone structure as sculptural artefacts.
