Recreating the clog in a modern context by transforming it from a simple work shoe to a contemporary fashion object. Inspired by the silhouettes of 18th-century court shoes. The shoe is a futuereritic hybrid of a reshaped deadstock wooden sole and an upcycled New Balance 2002r factory sample. Elastic replaces laces for a clean, minimal finish.
The design merges traditional clog craftsmanship with urban sneaker aesthetics, placing the historical shape in contemporary context and exploring the future of sustainable, artistic, jet wearable footwear.
Bio I am currently in my fourth semester of studying Fashion and Textiles at The Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen. During my exchange at the Estonian Academy of Arts, I have focused on accessory design with an emphasis on handmade footwear. My passion lies in exploring traditional craftsmanship, upcycling, and storytelling. I aim to create expressive, functional pieces that reflect cultural references, personal narratives, and a responsible approach to materials and production.
