For this project my goal was to work with exclusively with vegan-friendly materials. I worked with 100% cotton candlewick cord for the crochet upper, and paired it with a geometric wooden heel. The crochet technique allows the shoes to be unraveled and the yarn reused, highlighting ideas of circularity and sustainability. My inspiration came from the strong and determined women around me who value natural materials and appreciate unique, handcrafted footwear. This design is a tribute to them, a balance between sustainability, craftsmanship, and expressive design.
