This shoe is from my Parsons thesis collection “Over Yonder” which was inspired by my grandfather: a woodworker and fly-fisherman, whose lifestyle inspired my research, concept and materials. For these shoes I learned woodworking to create the custom poplar heels, and hand cut and beaded all of the bamboo beads applied to the heels. The beaded application was meant to be an eco conscious faux fur textile, while the kidskin upper is meant to distort the typical shape of a foot.
