The Red Woman is a project inspired by the recurring cultural motif of red shoes and the "red look" in pop culture—particularly in its association with women in cinema, the woman in red has appears in many forms with different connotations and symbolism.
In my project I chose to bring out my own interpretation with a playful adaptation of a shoe and a strong pose and presence, and explored the different meanings the colors may have in different cultures and color theories.
The shoe was traditionally handmade, combined with 3D sculpting techniques for the heels, which are reinforced.
Bio Art has always helped me express myself. When words failed me, I have my hands translate through fashion/craft/illustrations etc. Creating is how I keep from overflowing, I hope my work offers others a refreshing drink.
