The outsole material “Terracoa” is made from certified biodegradable (EN13432) as well as plant based raw materials. This way it solves the issue of about 170g microplastics through outsole abrasion per person per year.
Terracoa is comparable to the performance of synthetic outsole materials e.g. TPU. Technical specs like rebound, abrasion resistance, glass transition, young modulus and elongation at break make it suitable for casual footwear e.g. sneakers.
Designed for injection molding, the compound enables seamless integration into typical existing outsole production.
