In 1968 Renaat Braem wrote the book 'The ugliest country in the world', a commentary on the building approach in Flanders. With its particular spacial planning and organic additions to buildings, Belgium at its least is 'special', 'unique', and yes for some 'ugly'. I would however like to argue that there is beauty in ugliness. There is charm in the beautiful rebelliousness of what we call in Belgium 'Having a brick in our stomach'

She started her career as an interior architect but changed course in 2016 and studied fashion management to proceed with a career in fashion. After working for various fashion houses she founded Tout Près in 2021, together with Debbie van Dam. Tout Près is a design and development studio that designs and develops ready-to-wear women’s collections for various brands and creative entrepreneurs.
