Combining shaggy mohair with with Elastomeric, Yuki Xu creates unique three-dimensional artistic designs that transcends conventional standards of knitwear and footwear. The knit's surface texture is created with the domestic knitting machine’s automated jacquard punch card mechanism, and its convex ovals are augmented via a handmade Trapunto leather technique. 3D printed PLA solids that mimic the jacquard's design motifs are sandwiched and glued between the lining and the boot upper to give an illusionary synthesis between the two materials.
