The concept originated from a semester project titled “1212.” Inspired by the zipper- a symbol of connection, separation, concealment, and revelation- the design explores the tension between intimacy, fetish, and shame. Drawing on research into the cultural history of zippers, the fetishization of feet, and reflexology, the design incorporates a red back zipper that, when unzipped, reveals the heel’s reflex point linked to the sexual glands.
