Fay Murphy is a Footwear Design and Product Development Consultant with over two decades of experience creating original women’s footwear for catwalk, luxury fashion, and premium lifestyle brands.
A graduate of Cordwainers College, London, Fay began her career in Antwerp designing footwear and accessories for Dries Van Noten where she developed a deep love for colour, materials, and an eye for detail — elements that continue to define her design aesthetic.
Throughout her career, Fay has led multiple commercial design teams, bringing her background in luxury fashion to deliver fresh and inspiring perspectives to distinctive, commercially successful collections. Her diverse portfolio includes brands such as Paul Smith, Boden, FitFlop, Topshop, and Air & Grace.
Alongside her consultancy work, Fay is the founder and creative director of Chapter 2, a luxury women’s footwear label rooted in timeless design, quality, and craftsmanship. Chapter 2 champions the principles of slow fashion, producing beautifully made shoes from her adjoining design studio and shoemaking workshop in East Sussex, as well as with artisan shoemakers in Italy.
