Ralf Felix Messemer is a footwear designer and product development specialist with more than 30 years of international experience across design, innovation, product strategy and manufacturing.
Today, Ralf works as an independent consultant, collaborating with footwear brands on the development of comfort-led fashion footwear and modern, technology-driven workwear. He enjoys working at the point where creativity, technology and commercial thinking come together — turning new ideas, materials and technologies into footwear that people genuinely want to wear.
His career includes many years at Clarks, where he worked across senior product line and category management roles, developing and managing men’s and women’s footwear collections. This included innovative collaborations with Norton Motorcycles, Christopher Raeburn and the V&A.
Ralf has worked across both established footwear businesses and ambitious start-ups, leading design and product development across international markets. This has giving him a strong understanding of different markets, manufacturing environments and the journey from initial concept through to production.
With experience across Europe, the US and Asia, Ralf brings a broad international perspective to footwear. He is particularly interested in how design and functionality can come together to create something both innovative and relevant.
